Maersk Drilling Secures Contract Extension With Wintershall Noordzee
Maersk Drilling has been awarded more work for one of its jack-up rigs, Maersk Resolve.
Drilling contractor said in a statement that, Wintershall Noordzee had exercised an option to have the Maersk Resolve drill one additional well at the Sillimanite field in Dutch North Sea.
According to Maersk, this extension has an estimated duration of approx. 100 days.
Contract extension is expected to commence in mid-2020 in continuation of the rig’s current work-scope.
Moreover, the extension adds an option for a well test.
2009 built, Maersk Resolve is a 350ft, Gusto-engineered MSC CJ50 rig with design optimization inputs from Maersk Drilling rig.
Jack up rig is engaged with Wintershall Noordzee since 2017, first in UK and later moved to Dutch side of North sea.
The Sillimanite gas field is situated directly to the north of Wingate. The Wingate natural gas field belongs to concession block 44/24b and is located east of the British coast off Scarborough.
Shareholder of Wintershall Noordzee are, 50% Wintershall Dea and 50% Gazprom.
