The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted consent for start-up of the Trestakk field in the Norwegian Sea. Operator Equinor plans start-up during the month of May 2019.

Consent for start-up of Trestakk is granted to the licensees in production licence PL091.

Investments in the development of the field are expected to total approx. $550 million (NOK 4.8 billion).

Equinor estimates the recoverable volume from Trestakk at StartFragment67 MMbblsEndFragment (10.7 MMscm of oil) and 1.4 Bcmg.

Trestakk is located about 15.53 mi (25 km) southeast of the Åsgard field. The field will be developed with a subsea template with four well slots and one satellite well.

The wellstream will be transported through a 12-in production pipeline to the Åsgard A facility, where the wellstream will be processed. The plan is to produce the Trestakk reserves with pressure support in the form of gas injection.

The addition of Trestakk brings the total number of producing fields on the Norwegian shelf to 85.
