Mike Mullen Energy Equipment Resources, a Dallas, Texas-based investor in offshore assets, has taken delivery of an offshore accommodation rig.

The new built accommodation jack-up unit ‘Crossway Eagle’ was christened on Friday, June 10, and is now sitting on legs in front of the Franklin Offshore Europe yard in Rotterdam, waiting for its first contract.

Built by China’s DSIC-Offshore, the Crossway Eagle is expected to enter service this month. According to Mike Mullen Energy Equipment Resources (MMER), the rig has a five-year contract with Maersk Oil Denmark.

Designed by GustoMSC, the Crossway Eagle is the first of two identical units owned by MMER. Namely, the sister unit, the Crossway Dolphin, will be delivered by the first week of July 2016 and will be available to the worldwide offshore industry.
