90 Jobs Lost and Salaries Slashed at Aberdeen Oil Company
An Aberdeen headquartered oil and gas service company that employs 2300 people globally has announced that 90 job loses along with salary cuts for staff.
EnerMech has said the changes were essential to address continuing low oil prices.
Additional cost cutting measures have been taken with are thought to include a reduction in salaries and benefits and the removal of a number of ex-pat positions from their international locations.
The job losses will be in the UK and Norway and are in addition to cuts already announced last year when the firm cut 360 positions.
In January this year, bosses at the company said they expected recovery in the oil and gas industry to take hold in the latter part of 2017 at the earliest.
The Aberdeen-based company, which posted a 27% rise in turnover across its global operations in 2014, said its 2015 revenues were “in line” with its most recent annual accounts published at Companies House after a delay.
