UK Union to Ballot 2,500 Offshore Oil Workers for Strike on September 28
Reuters reported that Britain’s biggest labour union Unite the Union said that its members covered by the Offshore Contractors Association would be balloted on industrial action. The move comes after members rejected a revised pay offer by the OCA. They are seeking a 4 percent basic pay and allowances increase. The ballot will open on September 28 and close November 2.
Unite said that it was planning to ballot the 2,500 members it has under the OCA. The decision would affect 106 North Sea oil platforms.
