Quadrant Energy Performs Successful Test at Roc-2 well, Western Australia
Quadrant Energy has announced a successful well test at the Roc-2, 165km north of Port Hedland in Bedout basin, Western Australia.
Roc-2 flow tested at a maximum rate of 51.2 million standard cubic feet (scf) per day of gas and 2,943 barrels of condensate per day, from a 25m thick perforated interval at 4,400m below sea level.
This success indicates the prospect of the Bedout basin in Western Australia.
Quadrant Energy-led joint venture has been farming the area since 2012, and able to achieve a 100% success rate in three exploration wells, Phoenix South-1, Roc-1 and now Roc-2.
Results indicate significant potential in this largely unexplored area situated in relatively shallow water.
Quadrant Energy is the operator and holds between 70%-80% interest in four permits totalling more than 21,000km².
The Roc-2 result offers Quadrant Energy the opportunity to analyse a range of development options given the close proximity to major resource projects.
Quadrant Energy is continuing to secure high-quality data to analyse these options in a measured approach.
This announcement adds to Quadrant Energy’s recent exploration success during the year at Davis-1, Outtrim-East-1 and Spartan-1.
