Two offshore workers that were kidnapped in Nigeria last month have been set free.

The workers of Russian and Nigerian nationality had been aboard the Bourbon Liberty 251 vessel, off the coast of Nigeria when they were abducted on February 23.

According to Bourbon, the owner of the anchor handling vessel, the two men “have been released and are in good health.”

“This news comes as a great relief to all BOURBON employees, who share the joy of the families. For obvious reasons of confidentiality, BOURBON shall not make any further comment,” said the French shipowner in a statement on Friday.

The company did not say who had kidnapped the workers or if a ransom was paid.

This is not the first time Bourbon is facing kidnappings offshore Nigeria. In April last year, gunmen abducted three offshore workers from a crew supplier. The workers were set free a month later under unclear circumstances.
