Ocean Installer Wraps up its First Deep Water Mooring Gig in Gulf of Mexico
Norwegian subsea company Ocean Installer has recently completed a mooring recovery and re-installation project for a Gulf of Mexico production facility.
According to the company, work location was in ultra-deep water (>2500m) and this is Ocean Installer’s first mooring job at such water depths.
The project was executed by Ocean Installer’s operating center in Houston, Texas and covered management, detail engineering, planning, mobilization, material handling, transportation, recovery- and re-installation operations to replace the mooring lines.
The Ocean Installer Construction Support Vessel (CSV) Normand Clipper was utilized for the offshore campaign, which took place during the second quarter of 2016.
“With this project we continue to build our position as a provider of mooring services, reinforcing and complementing our service offerings beyond our strong SURF competency,” says Mike Newbury, President of Ocean Installer in the US.
