All North Sea helicopter traffic have returned to base this morning after manufacturer Sikorsky issued an Alert service Bulletin detailing a series of checks to be conducted on the aircraft.

The Alert Service Bulletin, issued by  Sikorsky (now owned by Lockheed Martin), advised aircraft operators who have aircraft airborne to conduct a series of technical checks when they next land.

Aircraft operators upon receiving the bulletin took the decision to immediately ground all S92 aircraft to allow them to conduct the checks.

After the Super Puma was grounded, the S92 became the primary work horse for the North Sea oil and gas industry.
