Norwegian oil company Statoil on Monday commemorated the 13 individuals who lost their lives in the helicopter accident at Turøy, Norway on April 29.

According to the oil company, the bereaved families, affected companies, and representatives from the government, municipalities, and search and rescue, as well as the volunteers who participated in the rescue operation were all gathered in Håkonshallen in Bergen for the memorial.

To remind, less than a month ago a CHC-operated helicopter carrying 13 people, two pilots and eleven passengers, from Statoil’s Gullfaks B platform to the shore crashed into the sea near Turøy.

All thirteen people aboard the CHC-owned Eurocopter EC225LP Super Puma helicopter were killed. The 11 passengers were employed in Halliburton, Aker Solutions, Schlumberger, Welltec, Karsten Moholt and Statoil.

A little over two weeks after the accident, the Accident Investigation Board Norway issued a preliminary report of the investigation into the crash with the intention to give a brief update on the progress and findings. Read more about that here: http://bit.ly/1V5M45m.
