International Offshore Rig Count Jumps Sequentially, Falls Year On Year
Oilfield services provider Baker Hughes reported on Friday that the international offshore rig count for July 2016 was up sequentially and down year over year.
The international offshore rig count for July 2016 was 226, up 3 from the 223 counted in June 2016, and down 38 from the 264 counted in July 2015.
Baker Hughes further said that the international rig count for July 2016, including land and offshore rigs, was 938, up 11 from the 927 counted in June 2016, and down 180 from the 1,118 counted in July 2015.
The average U.S. rig count for July 2016 was 449, up 32 from the 417 counted in June 2016, and down 417 from the 866 counted in July 2015.
The average Canadian rig count for June 2016 was 94, up 31 from the 63 counted in June 2016, and down 89 from the 183 counted in July 2015.
The worldwide rig count for July 2016 was 1,481, up 74 from the 1,407 counted in June 2016, and down 686 from the 2,167 counted in July 2015.
The worldwide offshore rig count for July 2016 was 248, up 4 from 244 counted in June 2016, and down 51 from the 299 counted in July 2015.
