Denmark Fines Total for Discharging Chemicals into North Sea
Denmark has fined French oil and gas major Total (TOTF.PA) 500,000 Danish crowns ($75,145) for the discharge of chemicals in the North Sea by a company it bought in 2017, Danish broadcaster DR said on Tuesday.
Maersk Oil, the former oil unit of shipping giant A.P. Moller-Maersk (MAERSKb.CO), was originally reported to the police by the Danish environmental protection agency in 2017.
