Bristows Helicopter Grounded Due to Technical Issues Twice in Four Days
A Bristows Helicopter has been grounded due to technical issues on two occasions in less than 7 days
Oil and Gas People reported on the 4th of November that a Bristow’s S92 Helicopter had to Return to Base (RTB) due to what passengers have described as smoke and fumes on board.
We also reported on the 4th of November how a Bristow’s S92 experienced technical issues causing it to shut down on board the Safe Boreas platform moments before take off.
Oil and Gas People has now learned that both incidents involved the same helicopter with tail number G-IACC.
Oil and Gas People has no evidence to suggest that the two incidents are linked in anyway, but cannot rule out a connection. Passengers have advised that Bristows did not provide any debrief after the ‘smoke on board’ incident and since then has provided no information as to the nature of the technical issue.
Bristows has declined to comment.
