Breaking: S92 Helicopter Declares Emergency Over North Sea
A CHC S92 Helicopter is currently making an approach to Aberdeen International Airport after declaring an emergency. The Helicopter is cleared for a priority landing and is due to land in the next 15 minutes.
The helicopter is being followed in by a Bristows S92 Helicopter which was also returning from offshore.
The CHC helicopter is currently squawking on the emergency frequency 7700.
Update 19:03: The Helicopter is now making a final approach to Aberdeen International Airport and should land in the next few minutes. The Bristows helicopter is circling waiting for clearance to land.
Update 19:06: The Helicopter has landed safely and has taxied off the the runway. The runway has been re-opened and the Bristows Helicopter that was forced to circle now has clearance to land.
Oil and Gas People is waiting for a statement from CHC as to the nature of the incident.
