Total E&P Congo has through Petro Services awarded the CSV Far Sleipner a contract of 18 months to support their subsea development activity in Congo, Norwegian shipowner Farstad informed on Tuesday.

According to the Oslo-listed company, start of the contract will take place during Q4 2016. Total has option to extend the contract by 6 x 2 months periods.

Farstad said that the commercial terms of the agreement will be kept private and confidential between the parties.

“Over the last 18 months, Far Sleipner has developed very good relations with Total through the work performed on the MOHO North field development project in Congo. We are very pleased to be selected as Total’s preferred partner for the next phase of this project. This contract shows the attractiveness of our new series of subsea vessels that meet our client’s expectations for advanced subsea operations in deep water production developments. We highly appreciate the confidence Total, as one of our key clients, is showing us again,” says Karl-Johan Bakken, CEO of Farstad Shipping ASA.
