Oil and Gas Scam Warning – Saunders Oil and Gas LLC
Oil and Gas Peple has been contacted by dozens of people advising of a job scam that is circulating using our company name.
Job seekers, some registered with Oil and Gas People and some not, have been recieving emails advising that their profile was found on oilandgaspeople.com and that they are forward for a job based in Canada.
The scammers ask lots of relevant questions that you would expect from a legit recruitment company and even discuss accommodation allowances and relocation costs.
The name on most of the scam emails is Dean Michael who claims to be a human resources executive working for Saunders Oil and Gas LLC based in Houston. The address used is suit 170, Mulberry Avenue, San Antonio, TX78212.
The fraudsters then send applicants a genuine looking employment contract and advise that there may be some fees to secure a Nova Scotia Offshore Workers License or NSOWL.
At this point the applicant who thinks they have landed a dream job are sent an email from a Mr. BT Fredrick, Esq claiming to be an immigration and licensing attorney also based in Houston.
The email then asks for the candidate to pay fees to secure the fake offshore workers license. Here is the email word for word.
Good Afternoon.
We have called Saunders Group for verification and the process is for Nova Scotia Offshore Workers License, known as NSOWL and not for Working Permit Visa. NSOWL can be processed through our Law Firm, i will send you the application form and payment instruction once we receive answers of the below questions from you.
a) As per Saunders Group, your initial contract duration is 2 years, will you need NSOWL with 2 years validity?
Note: 1 Year NSOWL will cost you CA$ 1,051.00 equivalent to US$ 780.00 and 2 Years NSOWL will cost you CA$ 1,955.00 equivalent to US$ 1,450.00)
b) What City, State and Country are you going to submit your application from? (Your current and present location)
c) Have you been to Canada before for a Visit or Work? If Yes, which year was that and how long did you spend in Canada?

The scammers then make off with your money and are never heard from again.
