Environmental disaster was luckily avoided as two giant tankers collided on Sunday while in port in Fujairah, UAE.

It has been reported that the LNG tanker, Aseem owned by SCI India rammed into the Sninyo Ocean, a VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) while it was berthed.

According to reports the LNG tanker was in ballast and arrived from India for bunkering so was empty at the time. The Oil Tanker had been bunkered and shows as in port since March the 16th.

Both ships sustained serious damage. The oil tanker a huge portside hull-height breach and the LNG tanker reportedly suffered severe bow damage.
