Island Innovator Will Drill West of Shetland

Iceland Drilling has received contract from the UK operating company CNOOC (Nexen) for drilling two wells on the British side West of Shetland The contract has a duration of 60 days firm and options with start-up in June

“Iceland Drilling Company AS is pleased to announce that the company has been awarded a contract with CNOOC Petroleum Europe Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of CNOOC Limited, to drill a well on the Howick prospect, located west of Shetland, block 206/21.

Programmed drilling start is the second quarter of 2019. Iceland Drilling Management will be responsible for operating the operation of Island Innovator.

CNOOC Petroleum Europe Limited is the operator of the Howick license with 100% ownership.
