Lundin Granted Barents Sea Drilling Permit
Lundin Norway AS has been granted a drilling permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for well 16/1-31 S in production license 338 in the Barents Sea.
The well will be drilled about 4 km northeast of the Edvard Grieg facility in the central North Sea using the Ocean Rig Leiv Eiriksson semisubmersible drilling rig after it completes the drilling of wildcat well 7121/1-2 S on the Pointer-Setter prospect in PL 767 in the Barents Sea (OGJ Online, Dec. 20, 2018).
This is the eleventh exploration well to be drilled in PL 338. The area in PL 338 consists of a part of Block 16/1.
Lundin serves as operator with 65%. Other partners are OMV (Norge) AS 20% and Wintershall Norge AS 15%.
