Aberdeen based firm Step Change Engineering will be employing 20 additional staff after it recieved a ‘Major’ Contract Win

The contract was awarded by Repsol Sinopec and cements Step Change Engineerings (SCE) plans to become a tier two contractor in the North Sea.

The new work for Repsol Sinopec comes as SCE expands its operations into other industry sectors.

Managing Director John Wilson added “Securing the work … is an important milestone for us and one that will aid our growth.

“In awarding multiple contracts, Repsol Sinopec is seeking to drive innovation and increase efficiencies as it transforms its operations for the long-term.”

Step Change Engineering was only launched in October 2014 as an innovative technological led approach to design and engineering solutions in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The organisation has not just secured work in the UK North Sea, it has also been given work from an overseas refinery and a UK whisky-maker.

Mr Wilson also said: “Although the oil and gas sector is our core focus, the distillery project illustrates how our technology and approach can be applied to different industries to deliver similar levels of efficiency and cost savings.

“The potential for this to be replicated across other sectors is extremely exciting and offers scalability for the business.”
