10 North Sea Rig Contracts Up for Grabs
It has been reported that up to 10 rig contracts are up for tender on the Norwegian Continental Shelf over the next three years.
Oil companies are in the market looking for rigs for several North Sea projects.
Statoil had formerly contracted the West Hercules rig to drill six wells in Aasta Hansteen, however it is understood that the contract with the West Hercules has been contracted and the contract is on tender to a new rig.
This comes amid several other potential tenders from other suppliers;
Zidane plans to drill four production wells.
Repsol requires a jack-up to carry out plugging operations.
Centrica is reported to be looking for a new rig on Butch and Oda with three wells requiring drilling by jack-up.
ConocoPhillips is said to have a fire-year contract available for plugging in the Ekofisk area.
Aker BP requires a jack-up to drill for 18 months at Valhall Vestflanken in 2019.
Wintershall requires a jack-up rig to work on two wells for 180 days.
Dea is expected to have a rig job on wells in the Utgard.
